Had your brows done before?

Let me walk you through our consultation, mapping & procedure

CONSULTATION
1. Client sent me a picture of her brows - it seemed more faded in pictures than in person but it was still pigmented enough for me to want to see it in person before committing.
2. Client came in for an in person consultation - the old Microblading was pigmented & I noticed there were 2 different tails of the old Microblading. A bit faded in the picture but if you look closely you’ll see red tails coming from the same body. As an artist, I’m flabbergasted that someone would do that to their client.
3. What I recommend - I always HIGHLY recommend anyone with old brow tattoo to get laser tattoo removal first before getting a new set (esp if you’re going to a different artist for different brow procedure) but if the client doesn’t want to then I give them options:

Option 1. Color correct with powder brows.
Option 2. We create hairstrokes & do some light shading (with color correction) to cover up the old color that shows through the hair strokes.

4. Client was okay with the conditions

MAPPING.
*What the client needs to understand: there’s so much we can do as artists to fix the shape & size of an old tattoo unless they get laser/saline removal.
*Because of the old Microblading (unevenness, 2 tails on both brows) the only way to match them as evenly as possible is to go thicker - which is what the client wanted anyways, so perfect!
*ISSUE - the 2 tails were creating a problem where the tails of the brows even if we map thicker, it’d still show a little bit. If we cover both, the shape will not be pretty and won’t match her face.
*SOLUTION - the top tails were faded more than the bottom and client was okay with it showing a little bit.

PROCEDURE:
•If her old Microblading was really deep into the skin creating scar tissue then i probably would tell her to get removal first or I won’t touch it. Not to be rude or anything, but because my goal is to make people’s lives better/easier by giving them good results. NOT give them more scar tissue to deal with along with patchy hair strokes.
•This client surprisingly didn’t have MUCH (she still had some but i was able to work with it).

•Initial session - just hairstrokes with bigger gaps between each stroke (new tattoo on top of old tattoo can cause pigment migration, aka smudging)

-very minimal, see how it’ll heal & add on during the touch up.
